WORK AND PLAY IN KAMLOOPS, THE TOURNAMENT CAPITAL OF CANADA
Mair Jensen Blair LLP is one of the largest and most diverse law firms in the interior of BC. Established in 1971, MJB Lawyers is a progressive and dynamic law firm situated in downtown Kamloops.
Kamloops is strategically located at the junction of the Coquihalla, Trans-Canada and Yellowhead Highways, as well as the CN and CP Railways, and is only a 3.5-hour drive to Vancouver. It is also the site of the convergence of the North and South Thompson Rivers. Both Air Canada and WestJet offer flights in and out of the city. Real estate in the city is affordable with choices from everything from condos to city housing to small or large acreages to recreational property .
Kamloops and the surrounding region is one of British Columbia’s best kept secrets. You’ll soon discover why residents love living here. The semi-arid climate offers lots of sunshine and spectacular scenery. The local lifestyle tends to be family-oriented, relaxed and friendly, and is attractive to both young families and retirees. It is an outstanding place to raise a family. Wander down to Riverside Park for nightly free summertime musical performances, catch live theatrical productions at the Sagebrush and Pavilion Theatres, or relax at the Kamloops Symphony. Kamloops is also the home of the junior hockey teams, Kamloops Blazers and Kamloops Storm. The city was named the Tournament Capital of Canada thanks to the many sporting events that take place here.
Getting outdoors is easy in Kamloops. Sun Peaks offers excellent, award-winning skiing, and is a perfect year-round destination resort with plenty of golf, mountain biking, hiking, and white water rafting, Harper Mountain, a mere 30 minutes from town, provides a smaller but enjoyable family-oriented ski experience, including night skiing. Groomed and tracked cross-country trails are available at Sun Peaks, Harper and Stake Lake. Wells Gray Provincial Park is about 1 ½ hours north of Kamloops and offers spectacular hiking and camping sites.
There are hundreds lakes in the area to enjoy all types of water sports, camping and fishing as well as many lakeside and riverside resorts. The region offers nine first class golf courses, as well as many smaller executive courses. There are more mountain biking, hiking and snow shoeing trails than we can mention, with clubs to join that will show you where they all are.
