MJB Lawyers is a busy, progressive law firm in beautiful downtown Kamloops with a respectful work environment. We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join our busy Solicitors’ practice. 

 

The successful candidate will be considered under the following criteria:

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) is required.
  • Be a member of good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.

Expertise

  • 2+ Years’ experience in all or some of the following areas of law: Incorporations and business agreements; commercial transactions and finance; wills, estate and incapacity planning; probate and estate administration; residential conveyancing.
  • Additional experience in commercial lending, commercial real estate and development work, corporate structure and tax planning and employment law are assets.

Skills

  • Excellent contract review and drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong research and writing skills as well as a demonstrated ability to navigate complex issues.
  • Have proven effective client and practice management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with lawyers and staff.

We will consider an individual coming from in-house or private practice and would consider associates and partners. We are interested in speaking with candidates who are anywhere from a 2 to 10-year call to discuss opportunities that we have with MJB Lawyers.   

 

Initial salary consideration: $80,000 - $100,000 (negotiable depending on year of call and related experience) with attainable bonus structure (25% over $250k in fee receipts), potential relocation fees for the right candidate. Group Benefits, Promotional Account allowance, continuing education and other benefits available also. Notwithstanding the foregoing, salary will be commensurate with experience.
