Alicia Glaicar is an associate lawyer who practices primarily in the area of litigation, focusing on family law and administrative law. Administrative law includes residential tenancy issues, human rights claims, and traffic court cases.
She grew up in Kamloops and earned her Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Victoria, graduating with Distinction in 2009. She then ventured to Australia to complete her Juris Doctor, graduating with Honours in 2012. She joined MJB Lawyers as an articled student in May 2013 and was called to the British Columbia Bar in April, 2014.
While pursuing her post-secondary studies, Alicia completed a Co-operative Education at both her family's commercial real estate company and an established marketing firm. She took full advantage of the international exchange program offered at the University of Victoria and went to Austria to study international business and the German language. She traveled to over ten different countries and was able to establish relationships and connections along the way. Her diverse experiences, both socially and academically, have provided her with a unique ability to interact with people and develop appropriate and personalized problem-solving strategies.
Alicia has always been active in her community, domestically and internationally. She served as a member of the UVic Corporate Relations Team, participated at the JDC West National Business Case Competition, volunteered in Austria teaching English to high-school students, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, the Royal Inland Hospital, and the SPCA. Alicia is also the President of the Kamloops Bar Association and a dedicated member, and Paul Harris Fellow, of the Kamloops Daybreak Rotary Club.
Alicia loves to go running and biking and has a passion for music, sports, and politics. She is a proud member of the Kamloops community and feels honored to be serving her hometown in her capacity as a lawyer at Mair Jensen Blair LLP.
