Best of Kamloops began in 2019 as an extension of the Best of Kelowna program, created to celebrate the businesses and people that contribute to the character of their community. Today, the Kamloops program includes nominees from across the region, including communities such as Chase, Logan Lake, Savona, Sun Peaks and other surrounding areas.

Congratulations to Nathan Van Kampen

MJB Lawyers is also proud to recognize Nathan Van Kampen’s inclusion among the Best Lawyers in Kamloops for 2026.

Nathan’s connection to Kamloops is personal and long-standing. Born and raised on a ranch in Monte Creek, he attended Thompson Rivers University, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in history in 2012. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2015 before returning to Kamloops to complete his articles and begin practicing locally.

Nathan joined MJB Lawyers as an associate lawyer in March 2023 and became a Partner in January 2025.

His practice focuses on business law, corporate structure and finance, commercial transactions, real estate transactions, property development and estate planning, including Powers of Attorney, Representation Agreements and Wills.

That range of work places Nathan alongside clients at important moments. He works with entrepreneurs planning a new venture, business owners preparing for growth or transition, individuals and lenders involved in real estate transactions, and families putting estate and incapacity planning documents in place.

His work is grounded in relationship-building. Nathan takes the time to understand each client’s circumstances, goals and priorities so he can help shape a plan that fits the situation in front of him.

Outside of the office, Nathan remains involved in the community, including through the Kamloops Adapted Sports Association. He also plays wheelchair basketball and men’s league soccer, and enjoys spending time with his family around Kamloops.
